Philosophy My home is a safe and happy place where children can learn and grow physically, emotionally, intellectually and socially at their own pace. I provide the children in my care opportunities to learn in a family-like setting with mixed aged groups where they can feel safe, loved and can begin to build a positive self image. In a clean and interesting environment, I encourage children's curiosity, creativity, confidence, independence, discovery, cooperation, and language. I believe in the value of playing. Through play children will learn cognitive, language, physical and social skills. Every day at Busy Bees has an element of free play. I encourage the children to use their imagination and provide an area with costumes for dress up and have a tiny kitchen for pretend play. I promote role playing, story telling and join the children at play. I love music and dancing and incorporate these elements into every day. Some days the children and I play instruments, sing songs, have dance parties or just listen to music from all genres. I believe in complementing the parent/ child relationship and maintaining a caring and responsible value system. A lot of thought and effort goes into planning my weeks and developing new programs to incorporate into my daycare. I always plan developmentally appropriate activities. The most important thing to remember is that I truly love and respect all the children in my care. I consider myself fortunate to be able to spend my days not only with my own child but with the other children in my care whom I consider my extended family. |
